While there have been many pivotal moments throughout my career, acquiring a U.S competitor and establishing our first physical presence in the United States marks a particularly significant recent milestone. This achievement solidified our global footprint, enhancing our capacity to serve clients across key regions. What have been some of the biggest challenges Tjoapack has faced? And how did the company overcome them? Over the past 35 years, we have encountered significant challenges, including macroeconomic shifts, recessions, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the post-pandemic team’s unwavering dedication and resilience have enabled us not only to persevere but also to emerge stronger after each event. What role do you see Tjoapack playing in shaping the future of the pharmaceutical industry?

At Tjoapack, we integrate manufacturing and logistics within the pharmaceutical supply chain, driving innovation and improvements. Our approach focuses on optimising our existing capabilities while incorporating cutting-edge technologies. A prime example is our pioneering development of the world’s first live blockchain application, enabling secure and auditable collaboration between us, our customers, and our suppliers. By adopting a use-case-driven strategy, we ensure continuous, reliable improvements that enhance efficiency and trust across the supply chain. How does Tjoapack prioritise innovation and staying ahead of industry trends? By proactively investing in experimental projects that keep us ahead of industry trends. We are unafraid to embrace unconventional ideas, knowing that not every initiative will achieve immediate commercial success. In 1989, we became the first company in Europe to implement barcodes on unit dose medicines, making a major advancement in traceability and safety. In 1997, we patented technology for online barcode printing on aluminium foil for blister packs, further solidifying our commitment to innovation. Our 1995 partnership with a supplier to develop a fully recyclable blister foil - while not commercially viable at the time - exemplified our willingness to push boundaries and explore sustainable solutions. This commitment to experimentation, coupled with a mindset of learning from both successes and setbacks, drives us forward with continuous enthusiasm for new challenges. Reflecting on Tjoapack’s culture, what values do you believe have been instrumental in the company’s success?

At Tjoapack, our core values are all about being a responsible supplier to the pharmaceutical market and ultimately to the patients who use the products we help package and distribute. We pride ourselves on being a straightforward and honest company, committed to doing what we say and delivering what we promise. What are some of the proudest moments you’ve experienced as the CEO of Tjoapack? Personally, I’m incredibly proud to continue the journey and legacy of Tjoapack, a company my father founded 35 years ago. As CEO, it’s a privilege to work with a team of dedicated individuals who genuinely care about the pharmaceutical supply chain and strive to make the world a healthier place. Looking ahead, what are your aspirations and wishes for the future of Tjoapack? We operate in a unique position evidenced by the high demand for our services. Our ambition is to continue growing the company, leveraging our existing capabilities, and expanding our geographic reach. We aim to support our customers wherever they choose to distribute and market their products. Finally, what message would you like to share with the Tjoapack team, clients, and stakeholders as the company celebrates its 35th anniversary? As we celebrate our 35th anniversary this year, I want to extend my thanks to all our current and past customers and stakeholders throughout the value chain.
